I SAY IF THEY ARE CAUGHT BEING HERE ILLEGAL THEY SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO GET CITIZENSHIP STATUS.THERE ARE LAWS ON THE BOOKS FOR IMMIGRATION,FOR LETTING PEOPLE INTO THIS GREAT COUNTRY.AS FOR THE ONES WHO WANT TO WORK HERE,A WORK VISA FOR 6 MONTHS AT A TIME WORKS FOR ME AND WITH AMERICAN WORKERS LOOKING FOR WORK NO IMMIGRANT WORKERS SHOULD BE LET IN THE COUNTRY.WELL THATS MY TAKE ON IT,I HOPE I DIDNT MAKE ANY OF YOU TO MAD OVER THIS.FROM JAY IN NC

To make Immigration Policies work, a general amnesty will to be a part of the vesting process, the only caveat: any higher misdemeanor or felony convictions not reversed by the courts would be grounds for denial & expulsion from the U.S.; if time was served with out incident, that should be considered, too. To get an idea of how badly broken the system is read, Flores-Figueroa v. United States, No. 08-108 (2009) at: http://www.ca8.uscourts.gov/opndir/08/04/072871U.pdf. Where the subject matter is ID Theft, English as the National Language, and consul. Pay particular attention to the ID Theft definitions. What's wrong with this picture? We, as a nation have shot ourselves in the foot, electing The Pied Piper. It is still our responsibility to become involved, run for office, and do right by our heritage.

Consider: our parents (1st gen. to the US) were Illegal Immigrants, unless one can produce documentation by the appropriate Indian Tribes granting citizenship(?) or Tribal Membership to them.

Our parents (or more correctly, our Founding Fathers) weren't illegal immigrants since they founded the country. Do you actually believe the Indians sprang from the ground here? Did they produce the appropriate papers when they crossed the land bridge? It's our country, we fought, bled, worked, died for it- we have a right to impose legal requirements on foreigners showing up on our doorstep. No one is calling for a halt to immigration, just a halt to illegal invasions. Our immediate forebears came here legally and so can the Mexicans. Since when are we obligated to play house with any criminal alien that floats, swims or scuttles over here? Get in line, wait your turn, learn our customs and language, and assimilate. Or stay the hell out and try to fix your own shithole country.

With the way Uncle Sugar is losing popularity, now he's looking to the illegals vote by making them legal at our expense. To Uncle Sugar it's not how you play the game,it's winning that counts. We need to show him a new game next election,it's called take a hike.

    Greetings!

This is my first time posting on this blog and I want to take a moment to thank you MD for your very fine work – I have been a regular reader for more than a year.

The topic of illegal immigration is of critical importance to our nation. Just this week I finished Patrick Buchanan's "State of Emergency" written in '06, where he addresses this issue at great length and in full detail.

I recommend others to get ahold of this book and give it a good read – it will open your eyes and really provide some desperately needed perspective.

My own opinion is that all illegal aliens should be deported and this includes children of foreign born illegals. This may sound harsh, but it fits with our Constitution. The 14th amendment states, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the juristiction thereof, are citizens of the United States…" The key phrase is "subject to the juristiction thereof". Illegals and their children are not subject to this juristiction!

This (and many other issues) has me considering changing my political affiliation from Republican (30 year member) to the Constitution Party.

Well, this is long enough. Thanks for the chance to share…

Well my fellow Americans, i strogly believe that most of youre opinions are not right, I Know most of the illegal immigrants that come to this country come to work and send money back to their countries, but i ask you, what happens when a kid, is brought to this country by their parents and had no other choice, after all this is a minor, this child was raised in this country as an illegal immigrant, but now not a child anymore, loves, and sees this country as his HOME, and would love to pay TAXES, and contribute as much as anybody else. What happens then? not being the only case like this. Give it a little thought My Fellow Americans, and dont generalize.
